Scholarship Info For Struggling School Age Children

    There is a website called Step Up For Students. It is on my links list. Also, you can google the "step up for students" and remember click the link that ends in "org".

    The website provides scholarships for children struggling in school and specifically there is one of the four scholarships for those struggling with reading on their grade level. The one I found useful and applied and received is the READING SCHOLARSHIP. 

    There is a scholarship to help with sending your child to a school that is out of your districted school and they have an application for transportation to that school. Also, there is a scholarship for children who are being bullied and need a new school.

    The way to determine if your child meets the need based qualification is based on test scores of their reading performance. Typically, for those who are on ESE for any type of disability will qualify. Not a fact though because each one of our situations is different.

2. Check if your individual child meets the qualifications. Basic qualification is reading below their grade level".

3. Fill out application when the portal is accepting the applications for the year. Right now they are open to applications for the new school year of 2023-2024.

4. Check your email inbox that you applied with and what for your award letter.

5. Make account from your computer and read handbook on how to utilize the award you are funded. 

    After you are approved there are many questions and things to consider. You will be awarded an amount and can purchase items to help your child at home.

     Also, you can find your own deals and submit a receipt to be reimbursed. See handbook for details.
